Open to all. No registration required. Superstorm Sandy resulted in an increased risk of lead exposure due to the demolition and renovation of older homes affected by the storm. Lead dust could be in neighborhoods and negatively affecting children, pregnant women, construction workers and their families. This lead screening is a free, simple finger stick with results in 3 minutes. People who show elevated results will receive education on dietary changes, removing the source of lead exposure, and retesting at intervals. Higher elevations are reported to the state and require a venous blood test follow up.
