There You'll Find Me
This young adult novel is a beautiful story that follows Finley, a girl who is still grieving over her brother's death, on her journey to Ireland to find peace and closure. I was hooked from the first page all through to the end of the novel, and I loved each of the characters, specifically Finley and Beckett. Jenny B. Jones is a great author with a fabulous young adult voice. This is now going on my favorites list. I highly suggest this to any girl interested in a read full of humor, romance, and hope. Although written by the same author of "Speak", "Fever 1793" is a very serious but suspenseful book with very little irony and humor. Based on the 1793 Philadelphia yellow fever epidemic, this novel follows the fictional character, a young girl named Matilda, know to others as "Mattie", as she struggles with the fever and it's destruction. She fears losing her relatives and always struggles with the question, "what will I do alone?" Find it at the Library!
This young adult novel is about a freshman girl who just wants to blend in during her first year of high school, as well as balance her attitude, grades, and make some new friends. Not to mention that she is now the "lowest of the low" because she called the cops at an end of year party after eighth grade. But what really happened at that party she can't bring herself to tell anyone, so she becomes a girl of very few words. If you like teenage drama novels, follow Melinda as she goes through the ups and downs of high school and tries to figure herself out. Find it at the Library!
