This isn't a very interesting short story, partially because you learn a lot about Abraham Lincoln in 8th grade. I didn't really learn much while reading this short story. Yes, there were some interesting facts that I didn't know prior to reading it; however, I could simply google "interesting facts about Abraham Lincoln" for general knowledge if I wanted to. In my opinion, you should just learn everything you need to in 8th grade about Abraham Lincoln and read something more interesting instead.
This book reminds me of The Giver, except in a different way. The same idea of a controlling environment is there, but there is romance involved. The ending was not as predictable as you'd think. This has become one of my favorite books that I've read. Good thing the sequel was already released! Find it at the Library!

There You'll Find Me
This young adult novel is a beautiful story that follows Finley, a girl who is still grieving over her brother's death, on her journey to Ireland to find peace and closure. I was hooked from the first page all through to the end of the novel, and I loved each of the characters, specifically Finley and Beckett. Jenny B. Jones is a great author with a fabulous young adult voice. This is now going on my favorites list. I highly suggest this to any girl interested in a read full of humor, romance, and hope. The 2nd book in the Stork series, Katla has to deal with the production of her school play, her increasingly distant boyfriend Jack, a recent deadly snow storm that brings and unwelcome, ice cold visitor, and her Stork duties. As Katla tries to deal with her new Stork powers, Jack focuses on helping to solve the global warming power, their relationship becomes strained. Woven in with more Icelandic and Norse mythology, the merging of different cultures and worlds, this novel continues Katla's growth and confidence in her duties. This should be read after the first novel. Find it at the Library!

Speaker for the Dead
3000 years after the complete extinction, or "xenocide" of the buggers, humans have found the second form of intelligent life on the small colony of Lusitania, "piggies". They believe that it is their second chance to meet with aliens. But this time they will agree with them, not fight. That is until two humans are killed by piggies. Andrew Wiggin, or Ender, is called to Lusitania, but will he be able to negotiate with the piggies? Or will the human race be forced to commit a second "xenocide"? This book is an mazing science-fiction sequel to Ender's Game. Readers will be captivated by Orson Scott Card's amazing twists and turns. Find it at the Library!
Xenocide is the third novel in the Ender Quartet. It is an amazind science fiction novel I would recommend to readers looking for a book to keep them occupied. On the planet of Lusitania, a virus known as the descolada can kill humans quickly, yet it is vital for the native life on the planet. The Starways Congress (government at that time) fears that if the descolada escapes, it will kill all of humanity. Will Ender be able to find a cure? Or will we have to commit yet another xenocide? (destruction of a whole planet and its native life)
