Serafina, a mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea, wakes up on the morning of her betrothal. Her biggest worry should be winning Prince Mahdi's heart, but suddenly things take a strange turn. Sera has these strange dreams which predict the return of ancient evil. An assasin's arrow poisons Sera's mother one day. This leads her on a quest to find the assasin's master and prevent a deadly war. Sera searchers for 5 other mermaids, and together they will form a bond of sisterhood and uncover a secret that threatens the entire world. I have to say, this book had a lot of fantasy and adventure. I really like how there are relatable characters, and unique places. All in all, this book was beautiful and you should definetly read it!  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

Sophie's best friend dies mysteriously, and so she sets of to stay with her cousins on a remote island called Isle of Skye. Cameron, Piper, and Lilias all reunite with their cousin since many years. Sophie never expected new (and strange) rules in the family. Some included: don't talk about Cameron's accident. Never leave the front gate unlocked. Don't speak of the girl who is no longer there. This modern thriller is full of mystery, madness, secrets, and chills. This is an amazing book- rate 5 out of 5!!!  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

This book has been a huge ride of emotions. If you love fairy tales, which a pinch of comedy and romance, Chris Colfer's Land of Stories is for you! Two Twins go on a voyage to this other dimention full of story characters. The drama just gets better from there. You will learn to love and admire each of the characters in the book. This book is one of my favorite books ever!   Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

The world is split into the red bloods and the silver bloods. Mare Barrow, a red, serves the rich and elite silvers. The silvers have god like powers, which play a factor later on. One day when Mare stole whatever she could so that her family could survive, she somehow ends up at the Royal Palace. There, she figures out a supernatural power of her own in front of the kings and his nobles. The king therefore forces her to be a lost silver princess who is supposed to marry one of his sons. Mare’s actions lead her to enter a deadly dance, turn prince against prince, and herself against her own heart. Aveyard truly knows how to write a story. This novel has kept me hooked and wanting for more. If you love fantasy books with a pinch of royalty- this is for you!

This takes place around the 1950's, narrated by 16 year old Holden Caulfield. He had failed out of 4 schools, failed 4 of his classes, and is going to be expelled. He isn't scheduled to return home to Manhattan until Wednesday. Holden leaves school 2 days early to explore New York before coming home, meeting his teachers, prostitutes, nuns, his sister, and an old girlfriend along his journey. This book provides a feel of adventure, interactions between people, and relatable situations. I enjoyed this book a lot, and I had a great time reading it!  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

"Upon the Head of a Goat" is a great read for those who enjoy first person accounts on living during the Holocaust, much like The Diary of Anne Frank. It reveals to us the standard of living as a Jew before and after the Holocaust started to come in and it really go into depth about certain aspects such as having a soldier come to your house and asking for water and the feeling of being isolated from the rest of the world because of their religion. Surely this book is one of those books in which the author makes you imagine that you are with her, suffering from the same living standards. I would recommend this to those who like read about other people's lives, because this book is a narrative of the author. However, I wouldn't recommend it to those who enjoy action because most of the book isn't action at all. I enjoyed this story because not only the plot was spot on, the message being conveyed is a noble one.  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog
