Nurse Jacqueline Boadu of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield will perform FREE blood pressure screenings in the Iselin Branch's Meeting Room from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.  She'll also discuss your risk factors and the steps you need to prevent or reduce your risks from this silent killer.

According to the CDC, "High blood pressure is a common and dangerous condition. Having high blood pressure means the pressure of the blood in your blood vessels is higher than it should be. But you can take steps to control your blood pressure and lower your risk of heart disease and stroke. About 1 of 3 U.S. adults-or about 75 million people-have high blood pressure. Only about half (54%) of these people have their high blood pressure under control. This common condition increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, 2 of the leading causes of death for Americans."

Review
Oh, this book.

I finished it (I know, I'm super shocked too) and the story was alright but so many issues. First, I listened to the audiobook and while I love Dennis Quaid, his voice is way too gravel-y for reading so many hours and his impersonations of women sound like a variety of Mrs. Doubtfires.

Second, it was so obvious that a President had a hand in writing this because there were random monologues about policy, his views about current events and politics. It just didn't flow with the story. And if you really want to know what happens in the book, read the last chapter because it's a speech that literally recaps the book. I just read it, I don't need you to remind me what happened and then spend multiple pages presenting your wishlist of what you wish politicians would do.

Granted, I agree with the "fake President's" wishes but that's not why I read a supposed thriller. And those all could have been fixed with an editor! Seriously, someone needed to come through with a big red pen and scratch a bunch of -ish out. And randomly annoying was constant reminders about things through the story - multiple chapters in a row, they introduced people with their name and political title. But you just told me that!

Was there some good suspense and action at times? Definitely. But the negatives were definitely distracting. Nice try, but doesn't get my vote, guys.  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

This book was so much fun! Not only was it witty and whimsical, it stayed very true to the original story of Jane Eyre (well as true as you can be while adding a secret society of ghost hunters). I loved that Charlotte Bronte was a character herself, and that she was writing the novel during the events. The authors came up with very creative explanations for several of the "questionable" plot points of the original novel, and they were just downright funny, in a way that was similar to "Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady's Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners." If you read/liked Jane Eyre, I highly recommend this as a fun story of "alternative facts."  Book Info

Trashy, smutty, and kind of cute. A really nice beach read, but expect lots of shenanigans, mediocre writing, meh characters and lots of food to be added on your 'to eat' list.

Romance people: go ahead.

Other readers who read nothing but "adult" literature: move along. Nothing much to see here.  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

I so wanted to love this book, especially since many people I know have recommended this to me multiple times. But it just didn't get any better.

I will say that Larson has a flair for dramatic... and not in a good way. He had subtle foreshadowing that was absolutely spine-tingling, but then there were multiple chapters he ended with the ham-handed "little did he know what this would mean..." or "no one was prepared for what this would do blah blah blah" and I wasn't impressed. I physically rolled my eyes after one particularly ridiculous chapter ending regarding the Fair.   Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

After going to four (FOUR!) graduation ceremonies this year, and having heard enough of the "inspiring-we-will-love-and-remember-each-other-forever" crap...this was a nice change. Lower your expectations, and you'll sometimes be pleasantly surprised. Super quick read and Carl Hiaasen never fails to elicit a chuckle from me.  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

You know, I'm not really sure if this deserved four stars but because I did actually really enjoy it - it's gunna get 'em!

Two women are RIDICULOUSLY unfulfilled with their lives and decided to take upon kind of letting an internet feud get way out of control. I mean, way out of control. Have I been there? ....Not really. As a teenager of course, stuff has spiraled farther than it should have but it never really escalated. Can I see it escalating and getting out of hand? Yes. Between adult women? Yep. I can't count the number of stories I've heard over people's family members feuding over facebook, ect.

So, while this book was entertaining it also kept me guessing and was such a fast read. I kept thinking about it and wanting to just finish it and see what was going to happen with these two women.

I didn't like them, especially Dawn, but I kind of sympathized. Also, the way this author wrote about people was absolutely astonishing. The way she handled drug addiction was something I've yet to really see handled. The actual character himself was a little eh but just the way she dealt with the discussion and topic of it was really a stunner for me.

Would recommend. Enjoyed!!  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog
