Here is a chicken or egg question. What comes before the clients or the resources to deliver? As we all know that is not a trick question. It is a real challenge. Bootstrapping is fine as long as you fly solo and stick to a certain level. There soon comes a time when you are all set to fly higher and you need a team & more resources.

The advise to build a virtual, on-demand team is not new. We all have seen someone we know actually having done that. But it is like that tightrope walking trick. It seems so easy when others do it but you crash to the ground when you try.

Luckily we have Jennifer Wilner who is in the business of helping entrepreneurs and business owners with an on demand team with relevant skills. So she is is extremely qualified to provide practical how-to tips on building a team that would not let you down.

Okay that takes care of the execution. What about other resources? For example, how do you find a list of local prospects whom you can sell to? Or how do you get a national list of prospects once you have saturated the local market? That's what the library is for! Your library is a powerhouse of resources that is hiding in plain sight. It is time you met The Librarian. Ellen Bonacarti is the Community Engagement and Information Services Librarian and you need to be at her session to find out what the Woodbridge Library can do for you.

Galaxies act as the cities of the Universe, from small "towns" with only a few tens of thousands of stars to massive metropolises boasting billions.  What makes up a galaxy?  How are these galaxies affected by the environment around them?  And most importantly, how is it possible to study objects that are billions of light years away and gain knowledge about their inner workings?  We'll take a broad look at galaxies and the universe as a whole, from spirals to ellipticals, from black holes to stars, and from dark matter to dark energy.

Presented by Adam Broussard of the Department of Physics and Astronomy Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.  Alex has  two primary research areas - the first is in studying methods of observing galaxy star formation variability, which gives insight into the physical processes occurring in galaxies to turn star formation on and off.  The second concentrates on studying how galaxies are clustered in the Universe, which gives us information about how dark energy as affected the expansion of the Universe since the Big Bang.

*Note: I was given an Advance Reader Edition of this book*

I love a good suspenseful thriller and this one did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed the movement from the past to the present day elevator situation, it added so much to the overall mood. I devoured this book very fast, I just wanted to know more and what happened next. Honestly, I felt like I was in the elevator with them, which added to the excitement and unease. The whole concept of the book was so new and fresh to me as a reader. Toward the end of the story, the pace accelerated a bit fast for me, I found myself wanting more details of how Sara did what she did, but this is a work of fiction and not everything has to be perfectly plotted out or even 100% plausible.

I could easily picture this one as a movie!  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

I received this as an Amazon First Reads. It was not easy to read due to the content, the author is a survivor of child abuse, sexual trauma, and her own destructive behavior in reaction to those adverse experiences when younger. Trauma follow us and manifests in strange ways as we grow into adults, it either eats us whole or we develop around it (but it's never gone).

This book left me wanting in some ways and satisfied in others. It feels like a privilege to witness a survivor who is able to put it all on display like this, but it felt like there were gaps...important gaps to a reader that were perhaps meaningless in the larger picture to the writer. I can only describe it as slightly choppy or disjointed. I felt a strong desire to know how the details of how she broke away during college, what happened after she left the commune, AND HOW IS THIS AUTHOR BESTIES WITH JANE GOODDALL? Like....that's the coolest thing I've ever heard and please, Keele Burgin if you are reading this, tell us what happened next! You grew up to be a badass woman on the foundation of Kathleen's experiences. When you're ready, I think you have some people who'd like to hear more.  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

Whether these visions are real or not, I find comfort in how beautifully peaceful the experience can make one's end of life. This book is full of stories from those who have witnessed either patients or loved ones living through visions before passing. This is much different than near death experiences as those are first-hand accounts.

I couldn't help but think of my own grandfather and his surprise at seeing his old school friend and his dog while in the hospital bed. And how we sometimes treat dying as a very clinical experience rather than a transition we can support people through.

I particularly liked the idea of parents being their for their children,"You protect your children from household dangers. You hold their hands when they cross the street on their first day of school. You take care of them when they have the flu, and you seem them through as many milestones as you can. Now fast forward 70 years or after you yourself have passed away. What if there really is an afterlife and you receive a message that your son or daughter will be dying soon? If you were allowed to go to your child, wouldn't you?" For me the answer is absolutely yes, if I can be there, I will and it was not something I considered until reading this book.  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog

The characters in this book felt so real, I swept along in the current of their lives from start to finish. It's about immigration, otherness, survival, and the small decisions we make in a moment that direct the course of not only a life, the but the generations that follow. Highly recommend!  Woodbridge Public Library Catalog
